Some of my Southern New Zealand adventures!

Welcome to Christchurch... a city being reclaimed from the ruins of a major earthquake
City of much rubble.. Barney would love it here!
Major efforts to save some buildings
Some look worth the effort
This church is focusing its efforts on other things
This is happening everywhere here
This too... Efforts big and small
The city that now listens
The Plan #1
The Plan #2
The Plan #3
The epicenter
Inside is an awesome hangout spot, coffee shop, performance space. The coolest use of shipping pallets I've seen.
Shipping container mall... yes all the buildings are mobile shipping containers where rubble used to be.
Lots of daily free performances in containerville
Car/truck/stretch limo things everywhere
The continual aftershocks still have some people riled up
Old school high school campuses. Harry Potter style
Huge park in the middle of the city with lakes, and trippy performance domes.
My 'nice' lock. It froze up with my bike locked up while I was at a conference on consciousness... way out in the country. A little screwdriver pried my way to freedom... cool?
Catching a ride to Dunedin on the southern coast of the south island. It's getting way rural out here.
Dunedin takes their train stations very seriously
Actually a lot of the buildings here 'rock'
A rose expo is going on inside the church across the street from my hostel
This place is huge!
City hall by day
And it comes alive by night!

Looks like I lost my laptop.. It might be a bit till more pics are posted.

Life is really good. I'm in the most beautiful area of NZ (the South of the Southern Island) and I'll be heading over to Australia in a few days. It's a very welcome change as I've gotten a good feel for NZ and if I was to be here longer I might just want to stay. Everywhere in the world seems to have their challenges, but this place seems to be especially full of opportunity. If I can put together some startup cash, I have very many ideas for businesses all over the northern and some of the southern island. It's a bit of an investors paradise here, with well educated temp labor coming from all over the world, growing infrastructure, and tremendously helpful locals. Interested? Let's talk. I would like to hear from you as It's been pretty quiet in my inbox recently.. Send me some smiles and new ideas. Cheers!

Onward to the south island... (and loving it so much more!)

As seen in LOTR
Now which tour bus to take?
This could be one of my dads buddies in several years
And this is where they would hand out...
He might carve something like this out of wood
and ride one of these into town
With this view from his "man cave" (Huge Trout I hear)
And I'd visit in one of these
I couldn't resist... I love to fly!
Made it to Wellington. Southern tip of the North Island
Free movie in the park with friends
The machines are coming!
Gandolf in the middle of middle earth
'Free diving' anyone?
Splash!

Shreak!

Woo Hoo!
Ode' to my Buddy Andre.. You'd love it here man!
Rowing team 'hard' at work
Trippy public art everywhere
Popular after work hangout

One of the capital buildings
Parliament.. Still looking for George Clinton.
The Botanical gardens were awesome
They'd seen in already... made sure I saw the best of it.
On top of the World... Well, Wellington.
Fun Tram Ride
St Marys. Memories
The ferry trip south.. Very scenic.

One last look at Wellington.. I could live there.

Just a bit windy... Honestly, almost knocked me down several times. WOW
The A-Team must be on the ferry.

Made it to the South Island. Enjoying lunch in Picton.
California redwood trees planted in an area w/no fog. Humm...
